Frequently Asked Questions
What are your tutors' qualifications?
All of our tutors have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Many have master's or Ph.D’s. All have been vetted, trained, and screened by Test Masters NOLA.
When do sessions occur?
Whenever is best for our clients. We understand students have busy lives and we work with students and their families to meet whenever is most convenient for them. This includes nights and weekends.
What is the minimum number of hours I have to purchase for test prep or academic assistance?
None! There is no minimum.
What is the minimum amount of time I can spend with a tutor in one session? How about the maximum?
A session lasts an hour at minimum and there is no maximum. We recommend a session not exceed 3 hours, but it can go longer if both the tutor and the student are comfortable doing so.
Where do sessions occur?
Wherever you'd like! All of our tutors have means of transportation and can meet students wherever is most convenient for them. We recommend the student's home if it is quiet and conducive to learning and studying, or a library. We do not recommend sessions occur in coffee shops, grocery stores, and restaurants, as there are usually many distractions at these locations.
What should I bring to a tutoring session?
We recommend you bring what you would bring to class or an exam, such as a course syllabus, class notes, a textbook, calculator, pencils, pens, scratch paper, etc.
Do you have a cancelation policy?
Yes. Please give your tutor at least 24 hours advance notice if you need to cancel a session. If you do not give your tutor a 24 cancelation notice, you will be billed for one hour at the hourly rate we have set for you. We understand emergencies happen and we are more than willing to work with students and families when cancelations need to be made.
Which standardized exams do you provide test preparation for?
Many! We provide test preparation services for all college entrance exams and for admission to graduate school as well. Check out our Test Preparation page to learn more about the exams we support. If you do not see a specific exam listed, please call us and we can confirm whether or not we are able to provide assistance for your particular exam.
How does billing work?
All tutoring sessions are invoiced at the end of each month, charged to a credit card, and a confirmation email is sent once a bill has been paid.
